Pauline Hanson, a Queensland far-right political figure - of vast popularity 10 years ago - released her autobiography, Untamed & Unashamed, in Sydney today. Panorama. Her long time supporter, Australia's most popular talkback radio host, the controversial Alan Jones (best known perhaps for his weeks of anti-Lebanese broadcasting before the Cronulla riots) did the actual launch -- he is the figure in the light blue suit, yawning, to the left of her. Proceedings were enlivened somewhat when a Chaser reporter was evicted after attempting to return what he said was her dress -- a Ku-Klux-Klan style outfit with a stain -- (a reference in part to tabloid preoccupations with her affair with her ex-political advisor). Yesterday the Harbour Bridge was closed to traffic for the day - and given over to pedestrian masses -- to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its opening. The crowds streamed over, and through the city, until quite late in the night. Here is the scene from the arch just before it got dark -- panorama.
