The large coal freighter Pasha Bulker was driven ashore in a fierce storm yesterday in Newcastle (130km N of Sydney). Today when I went up there it was still sitting fast - being beaten by enormous waves. This beach, Nobby's Beach, is the main city beach of Newcastle, the CBD being just a 15 minute walk away. Panorama.
