This morning Boy Scouts celebrated the centenary of scouting at the Opera House ... panorama. The large flag they are holding up was for the benefit of helicopter cameras. A similarly giant Scout flag replaced the Aboriginal flag which normally flies next to the national flag on the top of the Harbour Bridge (!) ... pic There was an interesting array of Scouting symbology on display including a kudu horn -- blown by a scout on top of the Opera House sails at 8am .. pic. The last time anything exciting happened on the Opera House sails was at the start of the Iraq War when two protesters daubed the sails with an anti-war message ... pic. Malcolm Turnbull, the Federal Minister for the Environment and Water was there -- in full election mode -- rhapsodising about the government's scheme to install $17m worth of water tanks in Scout Halls round the nation.
